What do I need to start a small boat rental business in FL?

I would like to rent out around 5-10 fishing and pontoon boats for vacationers. Need help on licenses and average start up costs. Anyone knowledgeable in this area or know of some website or reading material would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Go to to find the nearest SCORE chapter. In the upper left hand corner is a box to enter your zip code. Your nearest SCORE chapter will be on the next screen. Contact them to arrange for a free one on one meeting with a SCORE counselor about starting a boat rental business.

SCORE is a nonprofit organization and is part of the Small Business Administration. They provide a public service by offering small business advice and training.
